Capital Projects

Realizing Great Expectations

 

Large individual, corporate, and foundation donations allow USAO to realize its great expectations! 

 

Some of the recent capital projects that have been funded by gifts from special friends and alumnae/alumni include the renovation of Troutt Hall's (Administration building) grand staircase entrance, the OCW Class of ’49 Loyal Daughters Chapel Bridge, and the Oklahoma College for Women granite historic signage. Funding has also been secured and renovation is complete for the outdoor Greek Theater and development of the Owens Flag Plaza on the Oval is currently underway. Donations have also been pledged for an electronic marquee.

 

Below are a few of the major gift opportunities that help support our college:

 

Endowment gifts ($5,000 minimum suggested) for:

  • USAO multicultural, interdisciplinary journal, Crosstimbers

  • USAO annual performing arts festival, The Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series

  • The USAO Art Gallery and Seven State Biennial Art Competition

  • The Howard Meredith Indian Humanities Center and Oklahoma School for Native American Art Endowment

  • Jane Brooks School for Deaf Education Endowment

 

 

College Campus environment and beautification:

  • Granite historic signage, Oklahoma College for Women National Historic District

  • The south college entrance reconstruction

  • The Walk of Fame Brick Plaza

  • Commissioned campus sculptures and monuments

  • Bill Smith Ballpark expansion and upgrade

University Academic support:

 

  • Nash Library and Learning Center
  • Faculty and staff development and enhancement

  • Technology enhancements for teaching and learning

 

 

Special Programs:

  • Antiques and antique furnishings for the Oklahoma College for Women National Historic District

  • Historic archives of the college

USAO’s strategic vision of academic excellence and quality campus life and living are fully explored in Realizing Great Expectations, a 29-page monograph.

 

Two additional monographs, The Howard Meredith Indian Arts & Humanities Center and The Heritage Project are also available for viewing.  These two projects are part of USAO’s grand plan to renovate and rehabilitate historic campus buildings which are currently off-line.
