Why Support the USAO Foundation?

There is perhaps no greater satisfaction than investing in our youth.  The sole purpose of the USAO Foundation is to support the academic mission of the university. Your tax deductible donation, or gift, is an investment in the future.  For many of our alumnae/alumni, giving is also a way to recognize the importance the university played in the success they currently enjoy – a way to say, “Thanks!”  There are many ways to make a donation that will benefit our current and future students:

Our youth are the currency of human endeavor…what is their worth?  Invaluable!  What is their capacity to make a positive difference?  Inestimable! - President John Feaver

Types of tax deductible academic gifts:

Cash donations are the simplest way to support USAO, Oklahoma' s only public liberal arts college which is located in Chickasha, on the historic OCW campus.  Checks may be made out to the USAO Foundation, Inc. and mailed to the address at the bottom of this page.  Or you may call the Business Office toll free at 800-933-USAO or locally at 405-574-1211 to make donations by credit card.  We will record your gift (or pledge to be paid in installments) and send you a tax deductible donation receipt.

Securities: donors may realize substantial tax benefits by giving securities that have appreciated in value.

  • Real Estate: for some, giving real estate makes sense.  Donors may give real estate outright or continue to occupy a home they have gifted and retain certain rights of income or use until their death.

  • Life Insurance: when an insurance policy is no longer needed for protection, the policy holder can transfer ownership and name USAO Foundation, Inc. as the beneficiary.

Matching Gifts: many employers have matching gift programs that match employee or retiree donations to a college or other education program.  (VIEW a complete list of all companies that participate in matching employee giving).

In-Kind Gifts and Gifts of Tangible Property: volunteer services and assistance provided free-of-charge to the university can qualify as a tax deductible gift.  Tangible property (donated items such as furniture for campus buildings or fine art for the USAO Art Gallery) is also tax deductible at its full appreciated value.

No gift to the USAO Foundation is too small – or too large!  To discuss donation options that will be of maximum benefit to you, and USAO students and faculty, contact:
